Begin by stocking up with pantry-friendly items. Include in your list your choice of rice products, vegetables (that you can store in your fridge or freezer) and any other kind of your favourite condiments. The infographic presented here (courtesy of our friends from USA Rice) gives us some ideas on how we can easily prepare rice meals throughout a five-day home dining. Making rice the foundation of your meal solutions that can complement with easy to cook dishes, here's how you can get started. STEP 1: Use one cup (250mL) U.S. par-boiled long grain rice. Follow instructions on the package of the rice product, for the amount of water (and salt, if preferred). You can also set timer for five minutes less than the instructions on the package. STEP 2: Once timer goes, stir in your choice of protein, veggies and sauce ingredients. You can increase to medium heat. Cooking can take from ten to twelve minutes, stir once or wait until fluids have been absorbed. STEP 3: Let stand, covered, an additional five minutes. Spoon garnish with your preferred 'extras'.
